December 2008 – Laurelwood Commons, a strip plaza development by Laurelwood Developments is now open at the corner of Erbsville Road and Laurelwood Drive in Waterloo. The project is anchored by Shoppers Drug Mart and Food Basics. True North provided project management and tenant coordination services to the 80,310 square foot project. Other tenants include Starbucks, Heffernan’s Jewellers, Scotia Bank, Nail Trix, Dollar It and Game Stop.

November 2008 –True North advises Niagara Health System on revenue generating opportunities for surplus lands at Niagara-on-the-Lake facility, including potential “seniors assisted living” strategies

October 2008 — Ronald Rivet leads Operations roundtable discussion on Green Building design at International Council of Shopping Centres 2008 Fall convention. View presentation here.

October 2008 — Shoppers Drug Mart opens new 17,000 sq. ft. store in Laurelwood Commons, Waterloo. Various other tenants concurrently open for business. Project management services were provided by True North

October 2008 — Home Depot opens first “small market” prototype store in Parry Sound, Ontario. Site sourcing and development management services were provided by True North

September 2008 – Pre-selling commences for 150 unit Watercolours of Haliburton assisted seniors focused condominium developed by Symbol Communities. Equity sourcing was provided by True North

September 2008 — Home Depot opens Heritage Glen, Hamilton store sourced by True North

September 2008 – Home Depot opens Bolton store sourced by True North

April 2008 — Gateway Centres breaks ground on their 7 acre Laurelwood Commons project in Waterloo. True North provides project management services.

April 2008 — Home Depot breaks ground in Parry Sound on its first 40,000 SF prototype. Site sourcing and development management by True North

March 2008 — Ronald Rivet presents as a member of panel on Green Building design in retail at International Council of Shopping Centres Canadian Law Conference

March 2008 — Home Depot breaks ground in Heritage Green, Hamilton. Site sourcing and development management by True North

February 2008 — True North is retained by Brad-Jay Investments to provide tenant coordination services for Jane Finch Mall.

January 2008 — True North Project Management is retained by First Capital Realty to provide project management services for the redevelopment of Morningside Crossing at Morningside & Kingston Rd., Toronto. This project has been registered with the Canada Green Building Council for LEED Certification.

January 2008 — First Capital Realty has retained True North to provide services for the renovation/restoration of the Barrymore Furniture Building in King Liberty Village, downtown Toronto. This project has been registered with the Canada Green Building Council for LEED Certification.
