Andrew Thomson

For the past 20 years, Andrew Thomson has worked on all forms of commercial real estate; including office, retail/entertainment, Internet “carrier” hotels, and hotel projects. His experience includes all aspects of real estate development & asset management; from feasibility and planning, to financial modeling, to leasing, to complete project and construction management services.

During the 1990's, Andrew worked for many of Canada's leading real estate development companies, including Marathon Realty Company Limited, Bramalea Limited, Cambridge Shopping Centres Limited and TrizecHahn Corporation. In recent years, Andrew formed his own real estate advisory services company, Thomson Real Estate Advisors, offering support to large pension funds, small private developers and retailers alike. Andrew grew a significant client portfolio, including Home Depot, one of North America's largest developers for each of the last several years.

Upon graduating first in his class with a Bachelor of Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia in 1986, Andrew joined a Toronto based consulting engineering firm. After receiving his professional engineer designation, Andrew attended the University of Toronto to earn his Master of Business Administration, graduating on the Dean's list. More recently, Andrew has been an advisor in the real estate field to students in the Queen's Executive MBA program.


Chris Bobyk

Chris Bobyk has over 23 years of development experience with major national retailers in Canada, 3 of which were at Wal-Mart Canada. In that role, Chris worked on all aspects of commercial land development including new store deployment and strategic asset re-development. Successes include the development and build-out of the first raised building prototype for Wal-Mart International and the successful execution of the first Sam's Club openings in Canada.

Prior to Wal-Mart, Chris spent 14 years with McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited. There, he held various development positions in strategic store planning & development, design & construction, asset & property management, market research, and municipal planning/approvals, achieving record results for the company. During this time, Chris obtained several awards of achievement from McDonald's Restaurant's International and finished top of his class at McDonald's University in Chicago in Advanced Land Development, Leadership Management and Real Estate designations.

Chris received his BAA in Applied Geography from Ryerson University in 1984. Following his graduation, he joined a Toronto based market research company providing custom statistical solutions to retailers. While working there, he went on to obtain certificates in Business and Marketing. This was followed by 4 years in real estate with one of Canada's largest financial institutions, C.I.B.C.

Ronald Rivet 

Ronald Rivet is a result-oriented individual with more than 20 years of experience managing design, construction and facilities, both in the field and at corporate level. He has worked in hotel, restaurant and retail environments. While at First Capital Realty, Ronald managed all aspects of the design and construction of the company’s base building retail projects in Ontario, as well as all tenant coordination activities.
Of note, Ronald was actively involved in the company’s “green “ projects and has extensive experience with LEED ® retail projects. He was a member of the Canada Green Building Council sponsored Core & Shell Task Force and currently sits on the City of Toronto’s Green Standard Cost Benefit Analysis Steering Committee.

Prior to First Capital Realty, he served as Vice President, Executive Director and Project Manager at Famous Players for 9 years. While at Famous Players, Ronald managed the design and construction of the chain’s state of the art theatres, as well as all facilities repairs and maintenance for a portfolio of 79 locations.

Ronald is a graduate of Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology’s Energy Systems Engineering Technology. He is a registered member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists as well as L’Ordre des Technologues Professionnels du Quebec.

He began his career at Canadian Pacific Hotels where he was responsible for all energy conservation efforts and projects. Ronald subsequently joined Burger King  Canada where he managed all new restaurant construction and renovations in Eastern Canada. While at Trilea Centres Inc, Ronald supervised several large construction projects at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Bramalea City Centre and Centre Laval. In the early 1990’s, he was also Operations Manager at Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
